"Forever Free” is made possible by major grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, created by Congress and charged with planning the national celebration of Lincoln’s 200th birthday. It is based on original documents about Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War, abolition, and the Emancipation Proclamation in the collections of the Huntington Library and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
This exhibit is made possible by the American Library Association through funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
If you would like to help on the organizing committee, volunteer as a host or docent, or learn more call 232-5024 or email dmiles@unca.edu.

In February 2009 the Center introduced its newest exhibit, The Pecking Order: Bullying and the Power Continuum. This exhibit examines bullying and related issues in the context of history and our community and is the result of UNC Asheville undergraduate student research and interviews that began in the summer of 2007.
